Lucia S. Hegyi
In 1981, Lucia S. Hegyi completed dressmaking studies at Ilona Vámos Vocational Garment School. Between 1981-1985 she worked as a tailoress of English and French garments. In 1986, she became a member of the Hungarian Art Fund as a fashion design artist. In 1989, she founded the Luan by Lucia brand name, which is one of the most prestigious haute couture brands in Hungary ever since.
She became a symbolic figure of Hungarian fashion for her reputable fashion shows that are perceived as large-scale cultural events and for her community work contribution to enhance fashion in Hungary.
The following projects are also related to her name and to her brand: designing the uniform of the Hungarian team for the Barcelona Olympic Games; designing the costumes for the popular Hungarian film, called, A miniszter félrelép.
Awards: Best Local Designer (1999, 2001); Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (2007).
Besides her major expertise of fashion design, she shares her extensive knowledge and experience that she gathered in the past 25 years on branding, VIP customer management and company management at the Lucia Fashion Academy.
Dóra Papp-Vid Dr.
Dóra Papp-Vid obtained her Textile Designer degree in 1999. In 2001, she received her visual environment culture and art teacher diploma at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, where she is a PhD candidate, currently. Between 1998-2000, with a scholarship in arts she attended the textile course at Universitat der Künste in Berlin, where she visited the classes of Vivienne Westwood. In 1996, she won the first prize at the International Fashion Illustration Tender, Lineapelle Milano. She takes part in different projects at the Lucia Studio for nearly 16 years (WAN by Lucia collection design from 1999; Luan by Luci London collections; Artistic leadership of fashion shows; professional presentations; organization of tasks for students and interns; consultations). Since 1997, she is also engaged in teaching. She took part in the organization of the art courses at the Model Fashion School and Vocational School of Arts and Design, she taught at the famous School of Arts, KREA, and she gave art classes at the Óbuda University. She is an enthusiastic and valued member of the Lucia Studio.
Claudia Sümeghy
Claudia Sümeghy earned her economics degree with a major in International Relations at the Corvinus University of Budapest. She then completed the course of Fashion Management at the Modart International Institute of Fashion Design and Management of Budapest. She operates her own financial consulting business since the age of 21. Since 2011, she is responsible for different projects at the Luan by Lucia Fashion House; she is the brand manager, while she is also in charge of strategy planning and management at the Lucia Fashion Academy. Her main goal as the tutor of the Fashion Specialization course and the Fashion Business Workshop is to share her knowledge and experience on the field of fashion start-ups, business operation, fashion marketing and sales. Since 2014, she also teaches light industrial trade and marketing at the Óbuda University. As she is Lucia’s daughter, she grew up within the walls of the Fashion House, and therefore fashion and all else related to this creative industry stand especially close to her.
Anikó Orosz
In 1994, Anikó Orosz earned her degree in Cloth Engineering from the Technical College of Light Industry of Budapest. In 1997-98 she completed the course of flat pattern making and standard size production at the Müller Tailoring Academy of Munich. Since she graduated, she has been working in the field at small- and medium-sized companies in garment assembly, pattern making, and garment pre-production. She has several years of professional experience in women’s clothing, as well as a background in kids’ and men’s garments assembly. She has worked for years for two famous Hungarian fashion designers, Lucia S. Hegyi and Tamás Náray. Throughout her career she gained thorough insight into both haute couture and ready-to-wear production. She is the tutor of the flat pattern making course at the Lucia Fashion Academy.
Martina Sarkadi Nagy
In 2001, Martina Sarkadi Nagy obtained her degree in Management and Business Economics at the Budapest College of Management. She wrote her final paper on the Hungarian haute couture marketing. She works at the Lucia Fashion House for 6 years, where she first started as marketing assistant and later she became the marketing manager. She organized numerous large-scale fashion shows and art events. In addition, she acquired extensive knowledge about graphic design. She was the executive secretary of the First Hungarian Fashion Designers Association. Currently, she is the project manager of the Luan Body & Mind Studio and a colleague of the Lucia Fashion Academy.
Kati Lukács
In 1989, Kati Lukács completed dressmaking studies at Ilona Vámos Vocational Garment School. She gained experience through working long years at different companies as a seamstress. She works at Luan by Lucia for 5 years now. English dressmaking is her personal favorite.
Zsuzsanna Szabó
Zsuzsanna Szabó obtained her degree in women and kids clothes making at the Ilona Vámos Vocational Garment School. At the age of 19, she received her fashion industry license and she opened her own tailor shop. In the meantime, she learnt to make men’s clothing, as well. She is a tailor at Luan by Lucia since 8 years. Her most favored material for clothes making is velvet.
Kati Varga
Kati Varga completed the advanced course of French tailoress at Ilona Vámos Vocational Garment School in 1973. She worked at the Costume maker and Rental Company for 12 years, where she started her tailoress career. In 1981, she successfully passed her master tailoress exam. She has been working at Luan by Lucia since 1995, and currently, she is the Head Tailoress of the brand.
